Sir Syed Ahmed Khan
(Two Nation Theory)
Q: Why did Sir Syed Ahmed Khan adopt Two Nation Theory?
A: Sir Syed Ahmed Khan adopted two nation theory especially after the Hindi-Urdu controversy. He realized that Hindus were only interested in Hindi to be declared as official language. He realized that Muslims were trusting on Hindus to represent Muslims before the British while Hindus were damaging the image of the Muslims to obtain all benefits for Hindus. In this way Sir Syed adopted two nation theory to work just for the improvement of Muslim community and to give awareness to Muslims that they must have their own representatives to educate Muslims to be capable enough to communicate with British for their rights and to get good jobs for their social enhancement. His idea of two nation theory was in fact to take Muslims away from Hindus and they at last started working for their separate homeland afterwards.
His idea of two nation theory was the foundation idea for the establishment of Pakistan as this idea was renewed by Allama Iqbal with independent Muslim state as the permanent solution of the problems of Muslim rights and separate identity.
His two nation theory was formed after the detailed analysis of Muslims declined social conditions during British government and Muslims blamed for the only enemies of British while fighting the War of Independence 1857. These all conditions forced Sir Syed Ahmed khan to present two nation theory
