(Long lasting effects)

Q. Explain about the long lasting effects of the Jehad movement for the Muslims of subcontinent.

Jihad movement failed but it had long lasting effects on the history of Subcontinent. It united Muslims, organized them, trained them for fighting, developed their moral values and gave them confidence.

It developed in them the spirit of self reliance and they felt that if Muslims follow the real orders of Islam with honesty no one could defeat them. It was the first time in the Indian history when Indian Muslims stood up to fight against the cruel rule of Non-Muslims .Muslims united religious and spiritual freedom.

It became a uniting force for Muslims who became ready to give away their lives for a moral cause and inspired the Muslims all over the Subcontinent for even coming after many of the centuries. Many historians take it as a forerunner of Pakistan movement because the same inspiration and spirit could be seen in the Muslims when they started working for their separate home land. Muslims became selfless fighting for a national cause dedicating themselves giving away their lives for major spiritual change. Muslim homeland base on the principles of Islam and Kalmia (la ilaha ilal Allah) was established.

Muslims were activated, grouped and organized. Afterwards no Sikh could ever force them to change their religion and become Sikh .Same way if ever Muslims were forced by anyone they gave call to their brothers and got the help. That is why ever if this movement ended but unity and strength remained.
